Frequently Asked Questions
Parking will be FREE on Parade Day for vehicles parked before 11am and exited between 2pm-6pm at these Auckland Transport Car Parks:
- Downtown
- Victoria Street
Please note that exiting before 2pm and after 6pm will incur a fee.
The Parade starts at 1:00pm and ends at 2:30pm.
There is Pre-Parade entertainment between 12:00pm and finishes at 1:00pm

Kids under 13 travel for free, but over 5s will need a registered HOP card.
Please note, no flags at height or balloons are permitted on the train.
Once families have cheered for their favourite Farmers Santa Parade characters and waved to the man in red it’s time to get the party started at Santa’s Party.
From 2.30pm, Santa’s Party in Aotea Square will burst into festive life with FREE entertainment for the whole whanau.
In the event of adverse weather, a postponement decision will be announced by 9am, Sunday 24th November on the Parade website and Facebook page. If postponed, the Parade will take place on Sunday 1st December.
The best viewing spots are Mayoral Drive between Cook Street and Queen Street and Customs Street East. There is usually ample space to even lay down a picnic blanket and then wander either to Santa’s Party or the transport hub afterward!
