our charity partner
Surf Life Saving New Zealand
We are the national association representing 74 surf lifesaving clubs with 18,000+ members, including more than 4,500 volunteer Surf Lifeguards. Our lifeguards patrol over 90 locations each summer and provide emergency call-out rescue services across the country, saving hundreds of lives each year and ensuring thousands return home safe after a day at the beach.
Even though we have been around since 1910 and are considered an essential emergency service, we are not fully government funded. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of the public, commercial partners, foundations, and trusts for donations and financial contributions. This income helps us lead, support, educate, and train our incredible surf lifeguards and clubs. We also proactively educate the public, so they make wise decisions at the beach.
By supporting Surf Life Saving New Zealand you will help save 1,000 lives each year.
